Massage Therapy

What is Massage Therapy?

The practice of Massage Therapy is a therapeutic, integrative partnership in which the therapist and the client works together to restore and enhance the well-being of the client. Massage Therapy assesses soft tissue and joints of the body, then uses a hands-on approach to restore and rehabilitate physical function, facilitating the healing process. Massage Therapy is great for treating injuries, preventing further physical dysfunction, and reducing adhesions and contractions in muscles and joints.
A qualified Registered Massage Therapist has completed a diploma program at a recognized school of massage therapy and has passed a registration examination by the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario. When looking for a qualified practitioner look for the Registered Massage Therapist (R.M.T.) designation.
